Gandhi Day

"We thank all the volunteers and participants for making the 16th Annual Gandhi Day Walkathon and India Festival a success.  Thank you Prof. DiSalvo and Dr. Raju for the enlightening speech. The Food was delicious. The kids performances and the spontaneous dance was fun .  All the proceeds from this year’s event were for Pantry Plus More."

“The Best Way to Find Yourself is to Lose Yourself in the Service of Others.”

About the event

The goal of our Annual Gandhi Day event is to promote Mahatma Gandhi’s message of peace, non-violence and unity. At the same time, it is an opportunity to serve the local community: Every year, the proceeds are donated to a local charity.

This year we are celebrating the 16 th Gandhi Day event, and all proceeds this year will be donated to Pantry Plus More. Entry is $5. Kids under 12 are free. Tickets can be purchased using the PayPal link on the page. Additional donations are welcome. Each ticket entails 3$ Food Coupon.

Over the last 15 years, we have raised ~$40,000 towards charities in the greater Morgantown area. The proceeds from this event have been donated to several local charities including American Red Cross, WVU Medicine Children's hospital, Milan Puskar Health Right Clinic, Eye foundation of America, Habitat for Humanity, Stepping stones, Shack neighborhood House, Scott settlement House, Morgantown Soup Kitchen and Ronald McDonald House.

We would like to thank all the community members, volunteers, and the sponsors for their participation in making this event a success. We look forward to your continued participation in the upcoming years.
